Each program is unique and tells the stories of various cultures, histories,
and events, yet there are a couple of underlying themes. Yes, the guitar is
a 'guide' or glue for the program, but the true theme is understanding that how a culture speaks,
listens, celebrates, helps each of us comprehend
and understand that society and its actions as well as our own.
The second theme explores how
we listen to music and life. Through demonstration and discussion the students
learn a few of the principals that will assist them in becoming aware of the
world and the music around them.
None of the music in the programs is 'children's
music' yet the students (all ages) are taught how they can hear it and what
to listen for.
What people are saying
"Mr. Larget-Caplan's enthusiasm was contagious! The students were
rapt and attentive as Aaron talked about music, self-discipline, determination
and learning. It was exactly the right kind of conversation to have with
our students!"
